While gabapentin may have some utility treating symptoms of klonopin and other benzodiazepine withdrawal its not nearly as sedating or anxiolytic and will not substitute for benzodiazepines which are significantly habbit-forming and their withdrawal should be managed by a physician.

The two drugs are not interchangeable as they are different chemically and have different metabolic outcomes.
