There was a tiny bit of bright red blood on the outside of my bm today however the past couple bms when i have wiped there was some red blood from assumedly a rectal tear (discomfort when wiping) is this concerning or is it likely from the sore spot?

If the blood is bright red it means it comes from near the outlet. Often from a crack/fissure in the purse string like closing mechanism of the outlet. The further up the origin the darker red & a shift to purple or black blood would be because of breakdown. Constipation or bulky stools passed quickly can cause such cracks.

Any abnormal bleeding should be evaluated. Even a benign cause like hemorrhoids can result in anemia. If you have constipation - You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless.
