Sore throat for 3 months. good amount of bright red blood in phlegm in the a.m. not strep. reoccurring white spots on tonsils. no other symptoms. the sore throat appeared an hour after kissing someone. what could this be? why is there blood now?

ENT: Please see an ENT specialist. There are many possible causes including infection and malignancy. Avoid smoke exposure and please see your PCP for a referral. A complete blood count and cultures are suggested.
