Alprazolam (Xanax) stays in your system for 2.5 days. I would be concerned about worsening reaction time, drowsiness, etc adding alcohol after a day. Inadvisable.

2 things would be worrisome: 1. Replacing high risk medicine with alcohol, both might help with anxiety and relaxing, never a good choice used long term and 2. Few cocktails where the quantity may need to be adjusted. Otherwise providing you limit the alcohol amount you should be fine.
