A member asked:

In chronic cholestasis, does the lack of flow of bile tend to last for many years especially where the symptoms keep coming back from time to time?

Well if it stops then the Gall Bladder may get infected/rupture and you get emergency surgery and may die. About the only thing to do is to take it out to stop what is going on now and to prevent rupture. Talk to others in your family as it tends to run in families.
