Is fluid behind ear common with ottis media with raptured ear drum ? is that mean that it is mastoiditis?

Fluid can collect behind the ear drum when it's infected ( otitis media). However it doesn't automatically indicate the presence of mastoiditis , a serious infection, which requires testing like CT scan,MRI or skull xray and is treated with IV antibiotics.
