A member asked:

I got stung by a bee, i don't know if i'm allergic or not, so as a precaution i took a benadryl. i'm very scared, it doesn't hurt or itch anymore. how long after i can still expect a serious allergic reaction?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You would know immediately or in just a few minutes if you are allergic to a bee sting. A mild reaction results in redness and swelling at site of sting. A severe reaction results in difficulty breathing, swelling of the throat and tongue, a weak rapid pulse, nausea, vomiting ,or diarrhea, and dizziness or fainting. You did the right thing by taking Benadryl.
