A member asked:

My daughter 14 had a tiny sip of coffee as an experiment and her heart rate raised up from 87 to 106 within 15 seconds. she has a cardiology appointment soon is this normal for her?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It would be hard to separate the effect of caffeine in the coffee from the natural stress hormone release triggered by your 'experiment'. I would leave the assessment/experiments to the doc who can decide which studies to do and what they mean.
