Nowadays a gastroenterologist performs a procedure to resect Barrett's esophagus. You may have to consult one at a university hospital near you. Generally a thoracic surgeon operates on hiatus hernias if surgery is advisable. Some centers use a minimally invasive technique. One operation for both problems isn't feasible.
