A member asked:

My brother had his lunch and an hour later experienced sudden but severe abdominal pain followed by jaundice. choledocholithiasis was confirmed with tests. does that onset of severe sudden pain indicate acute cholestasis?

There is a term 'Biliary colic" used to describe the abdominal pain triggered by a stone in the narrow bile ducts. If the bile cannot be excreted into the poop, you can have jaundice.
