We're trying to conceive, but i'm going to have a mole removed near my belly button, with local anesthesia. this happens shortly before or during ovulation. is it safe to try to conceive? can local anesthesia have any effect on possible fertilization?

No, it should not be a problem. The amount of lidocaine absorption with local anesthesia is negligible.

The proposed procedure does not pose a risk to you or your future child. If you are planning to get pregnant, take pre-natal vitamins and establish care with an obstetrician. Wish you good health and a healthy baby!
