I need to have a cancerous mole removed on my arm or leg. could i opt out of anesthesia?

Usually yes: You can opt out of general anesthesia, and have just local anesthesia instead. If the tumor is larger than an inch, though, you probably want to have general anesthesia, especially if they need to take skin from somewhere else to close the wound.
