Read what fasting means. Learn to follow directions. Tell boss not to bring unhealthy foods to work. Prob did not affect lipid test but maybe glucose. Get a family tree for early heart disease, age of deaths and causes and share with your Dr. Move to DASH eating plan and get rechecked in few months. Keep BMI less than 25. Live long and prosper.

Cholesterol is a steady state and eating before the blood sample makes no difference. However, triglycerides and blood sugar are affected by eating. Because of that you should do a 12 hour fast and repeat the lipid panel and you'll also get a fasting blood sugar result.
