A member asked:

Asked similar question but, some bats flew overhead while i was on a night walk a few days ago. i know none of them got close, but im super paranoid i somehow was bitten by one & didnt realize it. is it worth getting a rabies shot?

Rabies is a regional issue with county health departments keeping track of the virus activity in their counties. The fear of a possible but not confirmed bite by anything would not likely reach the level of need that the county health department would authorize use of the vaccine. Check with your local health department.

As far as I know there are no Vampire Bats in Georgia. Probably the ones you saw prefer mosquitos.

Getting rabies vaccination will not do any harm, but it will not affect your paranoia.
