A member asked:

Reabsorption after glomerular filtration is done by renal tubules or peritubular capillaries? in fact , what is actually renal tubule and what does it do?

Our kidney is made of a filtering system(called Glomerulus) which is connected to a pipe like structures( called kidney or renal Tubules)which have the ability to reabsorb most of the filtered fluid and allowing only a small fraction of the fluid to go out of our body as Urine. How much fluid is reabsorbed depends on the hydration status of each individual.

tubules are permeable and fluid with various components is exchanged in and out of it as per the requirements of the body . peritubular capillaries only do the absorption of what is required. a tubule is a tubular structure where the filtrate from the glom. caps flows and ultimately the 'unwanted' portion of it collects and forms urine. There are about a million of these units in each kidney.
