Afn amer GFR: "afn amer glomerular filtration rate", stands for african american gfr. African-americans have more muscle mass than whites. Due to this, they have a different estimated GFR than whites with the same level of creatinine and the same age, sex and weight. See your nephrologist for more details.

A convention: Muscular guys like me run higher creatinine. Not everyone agrees that it is all that helpful to estimate GFR in healthy folks based just on a spot creatinine, or estimating their muscularity by their race rather than by looking at them. "afn amer" just reflects an underlying assumption that somebody is more muscular because they are black. If you are not a kidney patient, i would not worry.
