These MRI findings are more common in older people but a young person with history of neck injury may have the same findings. The findings are significant but not serious. Neck pain and cervical neuralgia, i.e. neck shoulder syndrome can be present. There is no indication for aggressive therapy; neck exercise, local care (heat is preferred) and non-narcotic analgesic(s) are recommended for relief.
