Could be from a number of things including an early eyelid infection or chalazion (stye), orbit or sinus inflammation, or actual eye inflammation (iritis). The symptoms might decrease spontaneously but it is still good to get checked by an eye doctor because some conditions might smoulder low grade then suddenly and severely flare up.
