If you smoke, are overweight, not physically active, and under a lot of stress, you could develop kidney failure in time with this type of lifestyle. This lifestyle in excess will lead to diabetes and high blood pressure, resulting in kidney failure.

There are many other reasons which can cause renal failure. obstruction, loss of blood supply, inflammation etc
