My dad has recently gone to hospital with vomiting and abdominal pain. they have found an inflamed spleen and have yet to determine a cause. he has had diarrhoea for about 5 days. any advice to control symptoms?

An infection affecting the colon will have to be ruled out first and before using antidiarrheals, stool studies are obtained and iv hydration is used. Spleen is likely inflamed in response to the infection. Talk to his treating team in order to clarify.
