I am pro vaccines but this one is so new that i have questions. 1. is the covid vaccine for children under five really meant to protect them? my children have already had covid, how will the vaccine protect them? 2. more importantly how can?

The vaccine definitely is intended to protect recipients (including children) against infection and reduce severity if infected. It also helps prevent them from spreading Covid to other persons. Even people with past Covid should be vaccinated: protection from vaccines often is more effective in creating strong immunity than infection itself is. Discuss with the kids' pediatrician.
