Jock itch (tinea cruris) is a fungal infection that causes a red and itchy rash in warm and moist areas of the body. Toothpaste is for teeth and does not contain any antifungal properties. The ingredients irritated the sensitive tissues on your genitals. Although this should heal on its own you may want to visit your physician to determine the extent of your injury.

You now have a chemical burn superimposed on a fungal infection. Toothpaste is formulated to be used in the mouth, nowhere else. Please see your General Physician for appropriate care of both the chemical burn and the fungus infection.

Never diagnose or treat yourself as it is almost always wrong and causes problems. Clean the area gently and apply cortisone cream till it heals. Never use any product with alcohol on the penis. You should be OK in a few days. If ]jock itch' returns pl see your MD
