I am 36. i had blood in my semen the past 2 times. i have no other symptoms. i recently started bike riding. could this be a cause and how long should i go before seeing my dr.? i had my yearly physical 2 weeks ago and all was fine?

If you had blood in the semen (hematospermia) for 2 consecutive times recently, you should see a urologist. However, if you only had this condition for just two times in the past, there is no need for work-up at your age and this condition is not different from a nose bleed. Bicycle riding is not considered a risk factor for hematospermia.

Sometimes the prostate can be irritated by the bicycle seat- specially the 'banana ' seat. Stop the bicycling and use a well padded seat after the blood in semen stops. I(f it does not pl see a Urologist
