Your modest increase of platelet count is probably related to low iron level. Unless you have hyper coagulable conditions, e.g., deficiency of Protein C and S, presence of factor V Leiden or antiphospholipid antibody, platelets count less than 1 million/mL alone is unlikely to cause clots (arterial or venous thrombosis).
