If "athletic activity" is meant by "play with...", an "avulsion hip fracture" can cause unequal adjustments in the opposite hip articulation and increase potential for both hip joints. Best is to obtain a referral to an orthopedic physician for evaluation and treatment.

Avulsion fractures are rare in your age group. The problem is not the avulsion itself, but the tendon damage that caused the fracture in the first place. Further tendon damage and nonunion of the avulsion fracture are issues that can be avoided if you wait for proper healing before resuming sporting activities.
