Are long term corticosteroids the way to go once diagnosed with eoe?

Standard first line therapy is topical ( swallowed) corticosteroids for about 2 months. Some patients need only avoidance of certain foods. Others may be tried on acid prevention meds like omeprazole first. Longterm corticosteroids are to be avoided.
