Symptoms may persist: Irritation in the prostate, bladder or urethra may last longer than the infection. At that point it's called chronic prostatitis or cystitis. The first step is to recheck cultures, then your doctor may consider anti-inflammatories.

You may have : Residual inflammation of your urethra from the bacterial infection. Follow up with your urologist. Consider taking nsaids- Motrin , aleve (naproxen) or opioids for pain. Hope u feel better!
