Ibuprofen certainly could do this, especially if a pill got hung up in the esophagus, which might happen if taken with insufficiently fluid, or if there is previous partial blockage of the esophagus. It also could happen even without pill getting stuck there, if you have prior gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Discuss with your doctor.
