You can watch and wait. If the spot more than doubles in size, becomes irregular, discolored, develops a nodule or ulcer, see a doctor.

It can occur . Common is a vague statement. From Your description it sounds benign. Keep an eye on it periodically and report any changes to your doc/ Urologist I think you will be fine

Im pretty sure I have penile melanosis. I have a small black spot on the shaft of my penis. Its been there for 7 years now and hasnt changed in size, faded, or gotten any darker. I just want it off of me and Im wondering if there are any creams?
