A member asked:

Is laser the best solution to left foraminal disc protrusion at the level of l4-l5 impinging the exiting left nerve root? already had unsuccessful injective therapy greg?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unless the disc protrusion compresses the nerve root sufficiently enough to cause progressive muscle weakness and atrophy or affects urinary function, would favor conservative approaches such as watchful waiting, physical therapy, and McKenzie back exercises. An epidural steroid works best when there is clearcut radicular compression.
