Herniated Disk: Neuroforaminal narrowing refers to a reduction in the size of the opening in the spinal column through which the spinal nerve exits. When this opening narrows (like in your case with protrusion of inner cartilage in a herniated disk which usually happens in one distinct area of the disk), the nerve becomes compressed, which in turn may lead to pain that radiates along the path of the nerve.

Disc herniation: It is a classic description of a lateral disc protrusion/herniation, and treatment depends on details.
