Not unusual for oxygen levels to drop during an active generalized seizure. However, the episodes of loss of consciousness are dangerous and can result in injury. Contact your doctor ASAP, and get appropriate intervention. She should avoid driving, activities at heights, use of power equipment, swimming, and bathing alone.

The transient brain hypoxia (low oxygen) is dangerous and may result in further brain damage. It will be a good idea to let the neurologist who manages your wife’s seizure disorder know as work up and or meds adjustments may be needed. If first seizure, would recommend having her assessed at the local emergency room as a proper plan will take few days and she will need to be tightly observed.
