With acute & localized compressive neuropathy, symptom (numbness) should improve and resolve completely when the compression is relieved, the numbness should not come and go. Your foot numbness is less likely related to that sleeping event but nothing to concern at this time even I am not sure if it's related to your current sickness. If symptom persists or moving up, you should see a doctor then.

I assume you have muscle weakness..That symptom is consistent with extended pressure on a nerve. If it was on an artery, the foot would be pale & cold and no pulses could be felt at the ankle. If.pressure.injured a vein, the foot would be swollen. In your case I expect the nerve to recover function in another day or two.
