If the urine is concentrated, that result can be normal but if the urine is diluted, the result can be high. To be accurate, the urine creatinine should be done at the same time so we can calculate the protein/creatinine (mg/mg). If the ratio is less than 0.2, the amount of protein in the urine is likely normal.
