Piercing carries infection risk, it is a surgical procedure done by a non-surgeon. How long ago was it done? Are there red lines radiating upward from the surgical site? Do you have a fever? If more than 2 days since surgery, is soreness increasing or decreasing. You should have a GP who has previously examined your and has baseline observations. See MD for examination and then treatment if needed
