Makes no sense: Suggest you use an antiseptic or antibiotic oinment such as bacitracin.

Vaseline: Bacitracin often causes allergic reactions. So does neosporin. These do not prevent infection & studies clearly indicate that wounds heal better with aquaphor or vaseline. Water or salt water is ok. Alcohol, peroxide, antiseptics should be used before piercing, not after.
