No: The spot may be an infection and applying steroid cream could make it worse. You may get an antibiotic ointment like neosporin from a drug store and apply that. If the symptoms do not improve 2-3 days, it would be prudent to see a doctor, sooner if discharge worsens or you get fever.

I would recommend: getting this checked out rather than treating without knowing the cause. Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream is used for skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, allergies, etc. You might have an infection. Take care.
