Why is it so painful to walk and get up from sitting on my left outter thigh?

It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. You may try warm packs/fomentation. If that does not help, it would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Although cannot be precise without direct examination, would wonder about hip degenerative arthritis or a labral tear. Could also consider a problem with lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, or even sacroiliac joint. An orthopedic surgeon could readily sort this out, and advise therapeutic intervention.
