Cardiac CT: A cardiac calcium score is a non-contrast ct of the heart looking for calcium in the arterial wall as a marker for atherosclerosis. A contrast ct angiogram is a ct of the heart looking at the vessel lumen and heart as they fill up with contrast. It can be as good as a heart cath if done without artifact and with a high resolution scanner in a patient who has had their heart slowed down.
