You should see a doctor for follow-up to your stroke, not for the EKG finding. If you do not have atrial fibrillation the enlarged atrium by itself is not a cause for concern. Wish you good health!

Your left atrial enlargement may be caused by poorly controlled hypertension or by valvular heart disease & places you at risk for future atrial fibrillation. Your physician can examine you to detect heart murmurs that suggest aortic stenosis or.mitral valve disease but,importantly will also ensure that your hypertension will be well controlled by appropriate treatment to prevent LAE worsening
