I took a deep breath and got like a sharp pain in my lung. ever since then if i breathe deep it hurts. did i injure it by breathing deeply? i have been leaning on the ribs when sitting in a chair but they dont hurt when i bend or move only breathing?

Pain with deep breathing is termed "pleurisy" because its origin is usually from some irritation of the pleura...the lining on the lungs. It can be caused by anything causing irritation or inflammation of the pleura. Common causes of this irritation include pneumonia, the common cold, the flu, COVID, or post-op blood or tissue in the pleural space after chest or heart surgery.
