I have obstructive sleep apnea for over 20 years. i went from a cpap to a bipap (over 6 years ago). now, my pulmonologist (now retired) ordered a cpap based on an at-home sleep study. why would i regress from a bipap to a cpap?

It is common practice to reassess a treatment every 10 or so years when addressing Obstructive sleep apnea. Treatment options change and aging, weight changes, other diagnoses can affect the condition. If your pulmonologist has retired, it is time to establish a medical relationship with a new pulmonologist and have them reassess your condition and update treatments.
