Some minor orthodontic work could be an option but often minor issues can be left alone and treated later when a person may be more motivated to wear retainers. Consult with an orthodontist to see if there is any medical reason to initiate treatment. Another idea is seeing if a retainer could be used to hold the current position and if it is still being worn a year later it could be a test.

A small discrepancy can be easily treated with orthodontic appliances, either fixed or removable. A local orthodontist, someone who can actually examine and diagnose your daughter's malocclusion would be the best person to talk to.

Amer Dent Assn, Amer Academy of Pediatric Dentists, and Amer Assn of Orthodontists all recommend 1st Orthodontic Examination (usually free) @ Age 7, & this is considered "Standard of Care." Go see a specialist Orthodontist for an informed opinion.
