A member asked:

Can an injury to a nerve (from long compression) cause pain that radiates down the limb but then also sometimes up the limb? basically, can an injured nerve cause referred pain in different areas on different days?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not uncommon for "nerve pain" to fluctuate in intensity and location day to day. The pain may radiate distally or proximally, and often both. If you possess a somewhat confusing pain pattern, seek medical help, get examined and diagnosed, so that treatment is handled optimally.
