A member asked:

If yeast and clue cells were found during a test can this lead to a false positive chlamydia test? i had both tests done the same day and thought i had just bv but then was told my chlamydia test came back positive?

Positive chlamydia test is not from yeast, nor have to do with clue cells, you know clue cells are associated with BV. A positive chlamydia test most likely means you were infected with chlamydia and should be treated, however more importantly protect yourself from sexually transmitted diseases in the future. It is important that your partner also get treated.

Yeast cells do not lead to chlamydial. They are two separate things and can infect individually
