A member asked:

I had root canal #15 2 days ago but my surrounding teeth in the area are still sensitive to bite(the treated tooth feels fine). they felt the same prior procedure. is it because of inflammation i had before procedure? will this go away? thanks?

The answer to all of your questions is probably. But sometimes more than one tooth is involved, Orr the treated tooth requires remediation. Root canal treatment is a surgical procedure, and all surgeries require healing time. If symptoms do not begin to ease off in an other 2-3 days, return to your treating surgeon (General Dentist or specialist Endodontist) for reevaluation/post-surgical care.

There is also a possibility that you are experiencing inflammation in your maxillary sinus. This could be related to the tooth, if it was infected and draining into the sinus, or it could be sinusitis unrelated to a dental origin. If the cause is the former, having had the endodontic procedure may resolve the sensitivity in your other teeth. If the latter, you should consult your physician.
