Hello, im 6 weeks pregnant and just diagnosed with bv. ive had 1 doctor tell me to wait until 12 weeks to use metro gel and another that said i could treat right away. what should i do?

Metro Gel is not generally going to create harm to a normal pregnancy at 6w gestational age, but if "BV" has been diagnosed, ask your OB physician about culture results and an appropriate anti-biotic which will treat the BV safely and stop the infectious process.

By UPTODATE: you can use either oral or topical metronidazole for BV in the first trimester. Oral treatment is effective and has not been associated with adverse fetal or obstetric effects. The CDC no longer discourages the use of metronidazole in the first trimester.
