A member asked:

Do doctors treat pregnant woman for bv for the remainder of the pregnancy if they are prone to bv?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BV in pregnancy: BV resolves spontaneously in up to 50% of pregnant women. When pregnant and symptomatic with BV, it should be treated. Treating pregnant women with BV who are asymptomatic is controversial. There is an association with pre-term labor, however, a decision to treat, which treatment, and duration of treatment, is something to be discussed with your OB/GYN. There is no consensus on these issues.
