A member asked:

Is it possible to get a sinus infection on just one side? and with a sinus infection, can the pain radiate into the gums? and if so, would it stay localized in the front near the sinus cavity or would it radiate to your back teeth?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sinus infection may be more severe on one side to give the appearance of a unilateral infection. Pain in teeth of the upper jaw is a common side effect of sinusitis. Try steam/water vapor inhalation to help clear the exudate in the sinus cavity. If you get fever or if the pain does not decrease in a couple of days, you may wish to consult an ENT doctor.
