Post endoscopy: Probably some esophageal irritation. Try to hydrate yourself and consider some over the counter antiacids like prilosec. You should consider if this worsens getting reevaluated and calling your GI doctor. You should also eat smaller meals during this time and avoid items that make a lot of gas like greasy foods.

Pain: It is hard to know for sure what causing you to have pain; however, complication from endoscopy may include nausea, vomiting, perforation causing bleeding and dark tarry stool, see your doctor if these symptoms persisit.

Probable gas pockets: Air is pumped into your intestine during an endoscopy and more air the longer the procedure. Also, if polyps are resected and/or burned-off due to bleeding there may be post- procedural pains. As normal bowel activity re- sumes the gas will be expelled and there may be diarrhea. If pain or diarrhea persist call your supervising health practicioner.
